If you watched this season's Survivor TV show, no doubt you noticed the amount of prayer that was happening on the island. Even last night while watching the reunion show, they were mentioning prayer and faith. This has me thinking…will this motivate and inspire others to be more open with prayer?

With prayer being removed from government and schools….it's great to see it on TV….but was it real?
Would someone have been voted out if they didn't join the group in prayer?

This would make a great radio topic piggybacking off the Survivor TV show.

Your hook could be: Prayer on Survivor…does God Really care who wins a Million?
If you need a hand flushing out the idea…connect with me. I know this will get you booked on Radio shows all over America!

Today is Light Up The Hospitals for my radio station. This is a huge fundraiser where people get to donate to health care in their community. We do this with the hospital foundations of the Kootenay Boundary area of BC. If you are a non-profit and are looking to get the word out about your events, this is proof at the power of media. Become a partner of the media. They are always looking to support a big idea. Not a bake sale, or community bingo…think big…create an event…ask your local media if they'd be interested in being the exclusive media sponsor and see what happens. My friend Bob Crawshaw has a book and podcast series coming out soon to help non-profits get media attention. I'll let you know when it's released.
Have a happy weekend!

IF you've driven, or walked or breathed…you've probably wondered what is wrong with people these days. Well, new research shows they are probably medicated…or need to be!

This is great research for experts who want to talk about behavioral problems and the problem with over medicating…or on the other side of the coin…maybe more people need to be medicated.

The latest research says 20 PERCENT OF U.S. ADULTS ARE ON BEHAVIORAL MEDICATION: More than 20 percent of U.S. adults took at least one drug for behavioral or psychiatric problems in 2010, including more than 25 percent of women, according to a report from Medco Health Solutions. The use of these kinds of drugs, for conditions such as anxiety, depression and ADHD, increased 22 percent from 2001, and although they're most often prescribed to women who are 45 years old and older, their use among men and in younger adults climbed sharply.

What's not clear, however, is if people are actually developing more psychological problems that need drug treatment, or if they are just more willing to seek help and medical professionals are better at diagnosing them than they used to be.

If you want to get on the radio, then you need to talk about the sexes…here's some great new research that had radio shows talking last week. Put your own twist on it and see if you can get some publicity with it:

Research Shows That Men Spend More Time Getting Ready than Women

On average men spend 81 minutes a day on personal grooming, including cleansing, toning and moisturizing, shaving, styling hair and choosing clothes, the study found. Women have their beauty regime down to a fine art and get hair, clothes and make-up done in just 75 minutes. The research, carried out for Travelodge, found that on an average morning men spend 23 minutes in the shower, compared to 22 minutes for women. Men then take 18 minutes on their shaving regime, compared to 14 minutes for women despite them having to trim legs, armpits and bikini line. Men take a minute longer – 10 minutes – on cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

Do your own Facebook or Twitter pol and send us your results…agree or disagree on things like:

• Does your man take longer to get ready then you?
• Do you prefer being with a dude that takes his time grooming himself?
• Do you think they polled manly men here?

Radio about having fun…and playing battle of the sexes all the time!
Let me know how it goes!

If the economy is in the Toilet in the USA – nobody’s told shoppers this year! The sales numbers are in and it's great news!

Retailers had a record four-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend – a record 226 million people visited stores and websites during the long holiday weekend, up from 212 million last year.

The average holiday shopper spent $398.62 over the weekend, up 9.1 percent from $365.34 a year ago, and
total spending was an estimated $52.4 billion versus $45 billion last year.

Black Friday sales were $11.4 billion, up 7 percent from the same day last year!

It might be a great day to pitch your positive or happy shopping experiences to the media…Yes, they will be looking for some positive news for the next week…maybe your store could be the one they feature….How are your local numbers?

This would be a great on air topic! Here's the setup…I found this in (Daily Mail)

Researchers found millions of women have altered their man's hair, weight, lifestyle or eating habits. Others have made dress sense their first priority, encouraging him to ditch scruffy jeans and wrinkled shirts for smarter, more presentable clothing. Shedding unsightly beards or growing trendy stubble are also common issues which women address within weeks of meeting a new partner.

The study found nearly one third of women felt they had their boyfriend or husband 'under their thumb', with 60 percent claiming they 'knew best' about style and image. One quarter of those questioned said it had taken them just two weeks to start molding their new partner in to their perfect man.

THINGS WOMEN CHANGE ABOUT THEIR MEN
•	Dress sense
•	Shaving habits
•	Hairstyle
•	Nose and ear hair issues
•	Shoe choice
•	Aftershave
•	Plucking eyebrows
•	Improving hygiene
•	Get rid of his beard/moustache
•	Cleanse and moisturize daily
•	Diet
•	Financial responsibility
•	Talking about their feelings

According to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Facebook use is now cited in one in five of every US divorce cases. Over 80 percent of divorce lawyers claim that the rising use of social media has become the catalyst for extramarital affairs. The thrill of being acquainted with old friends can be enough of a turn-on to spark casual conversations.

Those personal conversations, between two emotionally available people, can lead to a deepened sense of intimacy which can lead to actual physical contact. It's highly unlikely that a harmless Facebook poke is given with the idea of conducting an extramarital affair. It's more likely that these people, some of whom have previously dated, are interested in catching up on old times, and these personal interactions can lead to deeper, more meaningful connections.

These connections can easily turn sexual and suggestive, as online connections have a way of becoming more personal and emotional more quickly. If your personal partnership is no longer fulfilling you, it's easy to turn to people who "knew you way back when" and establish a new connection, rather than facing marital problems.
