I always keep my eyes and ears open looking for Publicity and radio tips that I can share with you…and today’s tip is a bigggggy!

This week I stumbled across some notes from Morning Show Boot Camp—a place where any Morning show can go to and learn from the ‘Best of the best’. At the camp, the 5 Magic topics for any successful morning show were revealed. They are:

Food, Kids, Pets, Money and Love.

Yes, when trying to get media interviews…always twist your topic around those topics!

*********************

Another secret to getting your expert self in the media is being ‘topical’.

And what’s more topical than David Letterman’s scandal and infidelity? So if you want some ideas…here’s what us producers and hosts are talking about with our listeners…

• Do you think Letterman's wife will leave him?
• Do you think it's possible the two had an open relationship?
• Would you ever feel comfortable having an open marriage or relationship with a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy?
• Who do you think is morally worse, politicians like John Edwards and Marc Sanford? Or Letterman? Oh, and what’s Bill Clinton thinking after all the jokes Letterman told about him?
• On what conditions would you ever take back a cheating spouse?
• Do you think Letterman's wife is more upset about the cheating or the public humiliation?
Join the conversations of the On Air teams and you will get booked!

That’s it for my On Air Publicity Tips of the week! If you’re thinking you’d be the perfect guest to discuss these topics or any others…I’m here to help get you Publicity on Radio, TV, and Media around the world. Just drop me an email or pick up the phone and let’s get you on the radio!

I’m Wayne Kelly and I’ll see you soon on the radio!

This topic is perfect for me, for sure. "Would Better, More Creative Sex at home keep David Letterman on the straight and narrow?" Or something along those lines!

Thanks to you, Wayne. I listen to the news with a "open ear" if that makes sense – with a "radio pitch" filter now. How can I take what is topical and hot in the news right now and make "wrap" it around a subject I can talk about.

    Great tips, Wayne.

    Hi Wayne,

As always, timely, spunky and topical :-) You're such a great source of sound bites of inspiration, encouragement and teaching!

I can see a "Could David Letterman and his wife have avoided this scandal if they communicated better in the bedroom?" in my future :-)

    Thanks, Wayne!
