I’m just flying back from the eWomen Publishing Network and I have to say I am thrilled to have worked with Jan B King and her team at the conference! I always enjoy the opportunity to hop on a stage and share some of the tricks I’ve learned about getting free publicity in the media but this blog entry is all about praising the directors and helpers.
It didn’t feel like a seminar but rather a family reunion. It was the first time I had met many past clients and my newsletter subscribers and it was a true honor.
Thanks Jodie and Tracy from the network for taking such great care to tell me where to go (In a nice way). Thanks to my new friends on the panels, Sheri McConnell, Joanna Brody, Terry Roberts, and Jeff Crilly. Elinor Stutz was one of my first clients and I had a great time getting to know her. Gail Richards was always looking out for every one of us selling product and has an incredible system for extracting a book from anyone….and thanks to Susan Sullivan for keeping me organized on getting to the event.
After hanging with 2000 women for 5 days, I was begging for high fat chicken wings and lots of beer but Lauren Sullivan and Terry Roberts hauled me off to a Japanese Steak place that was excellent but the way I look at it, you guys now owe me the beer and wings!
Jan B King deserves a paragraph all to herself. It’s not very often I meet people who I would walk over hot coals for but I would for Jan. If you ever want to meet the most powerful yet caring publishing resource on the planet, that’s Jan.
So I want to warn you I will be gushing about many of my new friends over the next few weeks. If you are thinking of writing a book, the eWomen Publishing Network is an incredible resource.

I whole-heartedly agree with Wayne – the ewomen convention was a warm, wonderful event. It's reassuring to finally find like-minded businesswomen.
My business is now taking off due to two specific actions I took. First, with the help of the ewomen publishing network, Jan King's organization, I wrote a book; and second, benefitted greatly from Wayne's class on how to interview with the media. I will now take Wayne's challenge to call one media person per day until I become known as the Relationship Building Sales Expert. – Elinor Stutz, Author of "Nice Girls DO Get The Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results" due out Sept.
I may be doing this backwards, but I am taking Wayne's online media training course first! So, glad I met you when in Dallas.
Wayne, believe me, we all feel the same about you. You've got an incredible resource to help women authors (and all authors) get the media attention they deserve. And even more important to me, you are someone we can trust and learn from. There are so many people who don't have their clients best interest at heart, but you are not in that group. You actually let people know if you can truly help them or not, and I really admire you for it. Keep up the great work!
