Following up after you pitch the media is critical to your success on getting free publicity and interviews! This morning I was checking my messages to find an interview request from Matthew. The pitch was perfect and I thought my listeners would love it…but when he left his phone number, it broke up (…he called on a cell phone). Even though I am interested in having Mathew on the radio, he’ll think I an not interested because I can’t get back to him.
I think the perfect way to pitch is leave a message saying you’ll follow up with an email.
