Jim Carrey does it – so it must be cool!

Being a fan of motivation and success, I've always heard about the power of vision boards and dreaming big. BUT then out of no-where, fear and feelings of "I'm not good enough" will often creep in. This is normal for most people.

I've heard Jim Carrey talk about how he used motivation and belief to change his life…but this speech really touched me.

Jim Carrey offered some encouraging words of wisdom to the graduating class of Iowa's Maharishi University of Management on Saturday (May 24th.) The actor spent most of the speech discussing the hardships his family faced growing up and all that he learned from his father, Percy Carrey, during that time.

An excerpt from the speech:

"My father could have been a great comedian, but he didn't believe that that was possible for him, and so he made a conservative choice. Instead, he got a safe job as an accountant." He went on to say that his father eventually lost that job and added, "I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you could fail at what you don't love, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love. Your job is not to figure out how it's going to happen for you, it's opening a door in your head, and when the door opens in real life, just walk through it."

Jim also told the crowd that the secret to success is "letting the universe know what you want and working toward it."
