What does the Mall have to do with your Publicity?

I love walking around the mall – because it often puts me in touch with listeners.

I’ll confess, you’ll find me in either a sport, shoe, or bookstore when I am in the mall.

I was in a mall recently and as I was looking at all the people – I caught myself thinking -am I relating my radio show to the people walking in the mall – or do I only target a small group of these thousands of people.
Am I connecting with people in the bookstore or am I able to entertain the entire mall?

If you want to be on mainstream media like TV and Radio – you need to talk in general terms about problems that a higher percentage of the population can relate to. You need to talk to the people in the entire mall.
The topics they may be interested in – may be:
Money, Relationships, Parenting, Aging, Health, Lifestyle etc.

BUT what if you only want to talk to a much smaller group? Maybe only the other people in a specific store? We are very lucky to have the next level of consumer connection. And with everyone starting podcasts – there has never been a better time to book yourself in front of everyone else’s traffic for niche topics!

My recommendation for 2020 – be a guest on as many shows and podcasts as you possibly can handle. Think of all the people that would hear about you or your book or your coaching or your services at the end of the year!

Think about it – why would you ever record, edit, produce, distribute a podcast – when you can hop on and be a guest on shows from all over the world.

Where do you see yourself fitting best? Mainstream Media worthy or Podcast worthy?

Drop a note into the comments below – I'd love to hear from you. I’m very curious.
